Ok, Ok - I know I am behind on my postings but I have made a commitment to post a new posting everyday this week to catch up. So back in June, which means school was finally over. Jake and Jaydens school has an egg drop at this time. Now the goal is to put a raw egg in something that can protect it (the device has to be no bigger then a certain size and you cannot use any tape or string to hold your egg inside the concoction) then the whole thing is dropped off the top of the school. For the last two years Jake and I have been thinking of ways to make this happen-in other words we have not been successful. This year Jake came up with an idea and it worked great. He cut up a swimming pool noodle into small sections and surrounded the egg with the small pieces.
Good job Jacob. I have to admit that I helped Jayden with her egg and we were not so lucky.
We wrapped her egg in a ton of toilet paper and it seemed soft enough, but one of the teachers had a baseball bat up on the roof and, well it didn't survive the louisville slugger. It was a lot of fun watching this. Some of the class mates had all kinds of creative ideas -egg in a jar of peanut butter, watermelon, pillow, jello (all of which did not survive.) Here is the whole school watching their eggs being thrown off the building.
and the teachers supplying the carnage.
So when it came time to throw the watermelon off the roof I couldn't resist recording it. So here it is -
The whole school has a lot of fun with this and a ton of parents show up to see if there efforts paid off.
